Carl Ray Sturgill, Sr., 78, went home to be with the Lord Thursday (July 2, 2009) at Bristol (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. Funeral services will be conducted 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Wayne Perry officiating. Military rites, by the Shaw Air Force Base Honor Guard will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery in East Stone Gap, Va. Friends and family will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to cemetery. Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap is serving the Sturgill family.
