Successful oil man turned entrepreneur, who with business partner Bud Westlund, developed the city of Apple Valley, California. They built the Apple Valley Inn, and founded the Bank of Apple Valley and the Apple Valley Ranchos Water Co. They also established St. Mary Desert Valley Hospital and built the infrastructure for the community of Apple Valley.
