Wesley J. Turner, 61, of 6331 New Cut Road died Dec. 26, 2002, at his home after an extended illness.
A native of Spartanburg, he was the son of the late Terrell and Marie Ballew Turner and was the husband of Bernice Ownby Turner.
He was retired from Waste Management as a diesel mechanic and was currently employed at INA USA Corp. He was a member and co-founder of Faith Baptist Church in Landrum. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Derwin Turner of Spartanburg and Tommy McMurray of Campobello; one stepson, Ray Mabry of Inman; three stepdaughters, Cindy Bradley of Campobello, and Cathy Ratliff and Tammy Wabnitz of Inman; one sister, Gail Eaton of Campobello; one brother, Ronnie Turner of Spartanburg; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 tonight at Seawright Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Everette Pierce. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Campobello. The family is at the home.
