Esther Lewis Brown, 90, of Shulerville, SC, a retired postmaster for the US Postal Service at Shulerville, died Thursday morning at her residence.
Her funeral will be 4:00 PM Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2016, at the graveside in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shulerville. Interment will follow directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the CHURCH from 2:30 PM until the hour of service on Sunday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1701 Tiger Corner Rd., Jamestown, SC 29453.
Mrs. Brown was born October 20, 1925, in Shulerville, SC, a daughter of Whiteford Armstrong Lewis and Mary Shuler Lewis. She attended New Hope United Methodist Church, and was the former owner and operator of Brown’s Grocery. Mrs. Brown loved her pets, working in her yard, and spending time in the outdoors. She was the widow of Junior Cumbee and Stansell V. Brown.
Surviving are, a son, William L. “Billy” Cumbee and his wife, Donna, of Shulerville; and two granddaughters, Michele Singletary and her husband, R.M., of Daniel Island, and Sharon Cumbee of Shulerville.
