Ash, Charles S., 91, passed away Monday morning, June 29, 2009 at Wesley Medical Center. He was born on September 10, 1917 in Topeka, KS to Charles and Sarah Belle (Fitzgerald) Ash. Charles graduated from the University of Kansas in 1940 with a degree in architecture. He married Dorothy Bram, April 20, 1940 in Wichita. Charles was active in both local and state wide architectural endeavors. He retired from Thomas, Harris, Ash and Mason P.A. in 1984. Charles was a longtime member of College Hill United Methodist Church, Lions Club, and enjoyed golfing, fishing and singing. He was an avid supporter of Wichita State University athletics.Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, daughter, Marilyn Barbeck of Overland Park, KS, son, Russell Ash of Topeka; grandchildren, Christopher Doke of Oklahoma City, Susan Beymer of Sapulpa, OK, Wendy Lucas of Overland Park, Carli Cooper of Kansas City, MO, Bryan Ash of Kansas City, MO and six great grandchildren. Visitation with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. today at Cochran Mortuary, 1411 N. Broadway and funeral service at 10:00 a.m., Friday at College Hill United Methodist Church, 2930 E. 1st St. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
