Dock Sherman Morris was born in 1868 in Independence County Arkansas. He was the son of Hiram G. Morris Sr., and Eleanor J. Lancaster (1831-1880). His siblings were John B., Hiram G., Artemis (Magar), Paul, Andrew Peter, Malinda (Seabolt), and Grant Ulysses Morris. His father remarried to Adelaide Laura Bell Tittle in 1884 and they were parents of Belle, Ellen (Rogers),Tennessee, & Bertha (Barnes)Morris. He moved to Oregon in the late 1920s with family members. He settled initially in St. Paul, Oregon later moving to Newberg, Oregon. He married Lizzie and they were parents of Dock Sherman Morris and Muriel Morris. Dock, Lizzie and Dock, Jr. are at rest in Friends Cemetery.
