Mrs. Dola Mildred Pettit, age 93, of Spencer, passed away Saturday, July 31st at NHC Health Care of McMinnville. She was born in Spencer, TN on April 4, 1917, the daughter of the late Joe and Sarah E. Barker Walling.
Funeral services were held at 10am on Monday August 2nd, in Spencer Funeral Home, with Gene Brock and Billy Reed officiating. Burial followed in the Shockley Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday 5:30pm - 9pm and again Monday from 8am - 10am at Spencer Funeral Home.
Survivors include: three sons - Hugh Pettit and wife Shelia of Spencer, John Pettit and wife Chay of Spencer and Keith Pettit and wife Linda of Spencer; one daughter - Beth Gribble and husband Jerry of McMinnville; one sister - Hazel Moffitt and one brother - Lawrence Walling; 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren also survive
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pettit was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Pettit; daughter Sue Morris and two sons - William Lawrence Pettit and Jeffery Clark Pettit; sister Sarah Ruth Walling; two brothers - J.G. Walling and Chester Walling.
