Lola L. Abbott, 98, a sister of Orval Gerber of Bluffton, Lola L. Abbott, 98, of Decatur, died at 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004, at Adams County Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
Born March 22, 1906, in Adams County, she was a daughter of William and Ida Mae Neuenschwander Gerber. Her marriage was on June 27, 1925, in Coldwater, Michigan to C. C. "Sandy" Abbott, who died on July 30, 1974.She was a homemaker and attended the Decatur Missionary Church.
Surviving, in addition to the Bluffton brother, are two sons, Wendell L. Abbott of Decatur and Vernon A. Abbott of Carthage, Indiana; a daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Patricia J.) Bittner of Decatur; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by one son, Don Abbott, and one sister, Devona Worden.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.and 5 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Zwick and Jahn Funeral Home at Decatur, where services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Mark Beers officiating. Burial will be in Decatur Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Decatur Missionary Church or donor's choice.
