Willie L "Bill" Meredith, 80 of 8524 Vickie Lane, died Wednesday at SS Mary & Elizabeth Hospital. He was a native of Edmonson Co and was a retired employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. He was former president and secretary of Local 185 of Tobacco Workers International Union and former national vice president of the union. He was a member of the Kentucky Umpires Association and former president of Louisville & Jefferson Co Umpires Association. Survivors include his wife, the former Athaleen Kendall; a son Kenneth A Meredith Sr of Bowling Green; three daughters, Mrs Ethel L Rippeon of Chattanooga, TN and Verneese and Debra Meredith, three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. the funeral will be at 10am Saturday at Beth Haven Baptist Church, 5515 Johnstown Road, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation at Owen Funeral Home 5317 Dixie Highway will be from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9pm Friday.
