SANTA CLAUS - Anthony Chmela was born in Chicago, Illinois. He was the son of Anton and Elizabeth (Steffeck) Chmela, both immigrants from Slovakia.
He married Rosalinda Weaver on Nov. 27, 1943, in Chicago; She died in March 18, 2007. Linda was a homemaker.
She was born in Santa Claus, Ind., on June 29, 1909, the daughter of Jacob and Anna Jacobs Weaver.
Surviving are daughter, Louise Smith of Santa Claus; four granddaughters, Lisa Sallee and Mrs.(Rob) LeAnn Stern of Englewood, Fla., Mrs.(Gary)Laura Yoder of Evansville and Ami Sallee of Tampa, Fla.; Linda's two surviving sisters, Elsie Weaver of Santa Claus and Henrietta Lasher of Bristow; and eight great-grandchildren, James Yoder, Mrs. (Aaron)Katharine Morrison, Joel(Beth)Yoder, Micah Yoder, Caroline Yoder, Seth Yoder, Robbie Stern and Sarah Stern.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, but we were unable to find his siblings, Anna, and 2 brothers.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband; four brothers, Alvin, Hugo, Otillo and Norman Weaver; and three sisters, twin sister, Pearl Asp, Dorothy Schaeffer and Marina Jacob.

Both are buried at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Fulda, burial in the church cemetery.
