Robert Curry's Last Rites Held in Waco Today

Funeral services for Robert T. Curry, 86, of 927 Sixth Street, who died at 11:30 a.m. Sunday in a Waco hospital, were to be held at 4 p. m. today at Wilkerson and Hatch Chapel. Rev. W. J. Shelton and Rev. Charles Wellborn officiating, Burial in Rosemound Cemetery.

Mr. Curry was born in Lawrence, S. C., on April 27, 1871. He came to Texas when he was 20 and settled in the Kirk community. He owned several farms in the Kirk community and later owned ranches in Navarro, Milam, and Live Oak counties.

He married Miss LouElla Mullens of Waco in 1903. She died in 1936.

Mr. Curry moved to Waco in 1922, retired from farming and invested in rental property here. He at one time owned the property on which Woodland Springs in now located.

He married Mrs. Roxy Crook in 1938.

Mr. Curry was a member of the Methodist Church and had served as a steward and Sunday School superintendent of the Kirk Methodist Church.

Survivors are his widow; a daughter Mrs. W. B. (Corrine) Patterson of 3201 Rice Avenue; two stepsons, Joe Ed Crook of 2216 Burnett Avenue and Roy O. Crook of 1528 North Fifteen-A Street; two brothers, W. C. Curry of 1105 North Sixteenth Street, and Clarence Curry of Sinton; five step-grandchildren.
