Elmer J. Hubbard Jr., 78, of Lafayette, died on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at his home.

He was born in Lima, Ohio to the late Elmer Junior and Hazel Rigle Hubbard. On Jan. 6, 1956, he married Ruth May Thomas, and she survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Rebecca R. Zeck (Robert) of Lafayette and Karen S. Eisert (Scott) of West Lafayette; two sons, Thomas E. Hubbard (Ann) of Peru, and Timothy W. Hubbard of Los Angeles; a sister, Luella Gregory of Lafayette; a brother, Fred Hubbard of West Lafayette; five grandchildren, Christopher Zeck, Adam Blankenship, Tina Zeck, Brent Hubbard, and Emilie Hubbard; three great-grandchildren, Taylor and Tye Blankenship and Aiden Zeck and a nephew, James Gregory of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Billy Hubbard, a great-granddaughter, Dinah Zeck, and a brother-in-law, Bob Gregory.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
