Albert William "Bill" Morrison Jr. was born and raised on the family farm in the Mineral Springs Community outside of Morven, NC. He lived his life in Morven and nearby Wadesboro, NC. He answered the call to serve his country and was inducted in the United States Army on August 4, 1942 and was stationed at Camp Crowder, Missouri. He was trained in communications and served in the Signal Corps. His Army specialty was radio repair. He contracted rheumatic fever and spent some time in the Hospital until He was Honorably Discharged on October 31, 1943. He then returned to Morven, NC and soon married his wife of 44 years, Eula Victoria Baker on July 20, 1946. They had Three Children. His son was later called to serve his country in the Viet Nam War. He worked in the manufacturing field until his retirement. After Retirement, He was actively involved in his local chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. He also expanded his interest in Radio Technology into a hobby of collecting and restoring as many different models of radios He could find. He was especially interested in radios from the early years. At the time of his death in 1990, His Radio collection consisted of approximately fifty radios , all of which He considered Special. In age, they stretched over a period of nearly a half century. As was a Presbyterian as was the tradition of the Morrison Family. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Wadesboro, NC up until his death. He died on November 13, 1990 and was buried next to his parents in the Morven Cemetery in Morven, NC. He was a beloved, devoted and loving Father and Grandfather.
