Cordelia "Judy" Webb was born 21 Nov 1925 in Gay, Jackson County, North Carolina died Wednesday, January 27, 2010 in Eden, N.C. . Judy was the daughter of William Burton Webb, 1892-5 Mar 1992 and Mamie Elena Trantham Webb, 1899-5 Oct 1975, both from Jackson County, North Carolina. Judy was one of eleven children born to Mamie and Bert who predeceased Judy as well as her brothers: William George 1917-2008, Elvin Curney Webb 1923-1965, William Burton Webb Jr 1931-2004; and sisters: Margie Lee Webb Haskett 1920-1997, Mary Etta Webb 1921-1933, Rena Hampton Webb 1928-1930, and Margaret Webb Ashe 1938-2002. Her surviving are one son, Gary E. Gardner of Eden, N.C.; one daughter, Barbara Shepherd of Franklin, N.C. three sisters Mary Ellis, Ethel McMahan, and Betty Browning; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Former daughter-in-law Molly and her children Ben Gardner and his two children Harley and Tyler, and Maria Gardner Sevigny.
1943 Judy married Charles J. Henson and they had one child, Barbara Ann Henson in 1943 in Dallas, Gaston, N.C.
Judy remarried James Edward Gardner of Ohio and on March 10, 1947, their only child, Gary Edward Gardner, was born in Portsmouth, Scioto, Ohio. Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother to her daughter's girl and to her son's children, Ben, Maria, and Kelly Gardner. Judy was a hard worker and she exhibited the very ethics instilled by her parents in her job, family and her life.
After the death of her husband, Jim Gardner, Judy met Sheridan Sizemore in Portsmouth, Ohio. They married in 2000 and he passed in September 2003. She later moved to Eden, NC to reside closer to her son, Gary Gardner, and her daughter Barbara who lives in Franklin, N.C. Judy was a member of Osborne Baptist Church in Eden, N.C.
One thing about Judy, that her entire family would agree upon, is that she cared, loved, and accepted everyone, UNCONDITIONALLY. She was an individual who always wanted to make those around her happy, even if it was at her own expense. She was tireless in her faith, family, and friends. She has and was an inspiration to us all, and the best "mother and friend" any girl could ever dream of having in her life.
Services for Judy were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 7, 201, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home with the Rev. Benny Bagwell officiating, Burial at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
