She married Sam Shannon, Sr. Uncle Bruce (their youngest son) told me Nellie and Sam knew each other in high school. They were transferred to Birmingham with Merita Bread Company and lived there until both Sam and Nellie died. They adopted a son, named Sam Shannon, Jr. who was an attorney in Birmingham.
