Sister Therese Martin Mattingly, 94, an Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph, of Maple Mount, Kentucky, died October 20, 2001, at Mount Saint Joseph Motherhouse. She was in her 74th year of religious life. The Loretto, Kentucky native taught for 55 years in schools in Louisville, Howardstown, Clementsville, Harrodsburg, Calvary, Lebanon and Leitchfield, Kentucky. For 12 years she served in outreach ministry in Benton, Kentucky. She was beloved by her many students and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Survivors include several nieces, a nephew, and the members of her religious community.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 2001 at Mount Saint Joseph Chapel, Maple Mount, Kentucky. Burial will be in the convent cemetery at Maple Mount. Visitation is after 4:00 p.m. Monday, October 21, 2001, in the Mount Saint Joseph Chapel, with a wake service at 6:30 p.m., also in the chapel.
