Campobello - GERALD "JAKE" LEE CLAYTON, 89, of 185 Clayton Drive, died Saturday, March 18, 2000, from injuries sustaned in an automobile accident. A native of Beech Springs, he retired from Lyman Printing and Finishing, and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church, where he was also a member of the Carl Brown Sunday School Class, was a member of The American Legion Post #45, and a member of the Holly Springs Ruritan Club. He was an Army veteran of WW II. He was a son of the late GEORGE LAKE and EMMA GRICE CLAYTON. Survivors include his wife, LUCILLE LANFORD CLAYTON of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, GERALD LANFORD CLAYTON and KAY CLAYTON of Campobello; two brothers, ERNEST and LEWIS CLAYTON, both of Lyman; and two grandchildren; JOHN CLARK CLAYTON of Indianapolis, Ind., and LANA KAY CLAYTON of Holly Springs. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. at Holly Springs Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. TIM CLARK. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holly Springs Baptist CHurch Building Fund of Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery Trust Fund, 251 Hannon Road, Inman, SC 29349. Seawright Funeral Home, Inman.
