Beloved friend, James Leroy "Jim" Stuart, 81, of Las Vegas, passed away peacefully, May 17, 2009, at a hospice in Las Vegas, surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 5, 1927, in Boston, the son of the late Charles and Laura Martin Coffin, and was an eight-year resident of Nevada.

Jim served in the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force for ten years. He lived from coast-to-coast making many friends in his travels with his outgoing personality and one-of-a-kind, 24-hour comic wit.

Jim really enjoyed sharing his wisdom and giving to others.

He worked in a variety of occupations, including cooking and a prison security guard. Jim was designated a pastoral counselor in Chula Vista, Calif., Sept. 9, 1981. He enjoyed cooking, playing pranks, bingo and fishing.

Jim was preceded in death by his 83-year old sister, Ethel M. Coffin Rogers; father, Charles Coffin; and mother, Laura Martin Coffin.

Jim leaves many friends, including Crystal, John, John, Dieter, Randy, Lois, Samantha, JJ, Dave, Frank Jr., Gloria, Pam, Sue and many more.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., in Boulder City.
