Wiley Montgomery Higgins.

On last Friday, August 22, the remains of Mr. Wiley M. Higgins, of Atlanta, Ga., were brought back and laid to rest in the Dorman graveyard, near Buffalo. He was born in Chambers County, Oct. 25, 1858. In later years was married to Miss Inez Fox, of Greenville. To this union were born four children. His wife and two children are left to anticipate the happy reunion where parting never comes. 'Tis a precious hope to every true believer. He confessed Jesus Christ as Saviour and joined the Baptist Church early in life. By nature he was as gentle and refined as a woman, clean of thought and speech, his home a very paradise of love and devotion. No doubt many have watched this gentle, quiet man as he passed to and fro and wandered from whence came such self control and purity of life.
He has laid down his burden here to take up new life, new work, new powers, and while the lives of many are overcast, may the loved ones give unceasing thanks and praise for these many happy years together and may this glimpse into eternity prepare us all for nobler service in the vineyard of our Lord. - M.F.
