Thelma was valedictorian of her high school class at Calvert High School. She received her Master's Degree from Sul Ross University and was a retired school teacher. Thelma also owned and operated Conitz Dry Goods Store in Calvert. She was a member of Baylor University Alumni Association, American Association of University Women, Association of Business Women of America, Robertson County Historical Commission, and a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Emil E. Conitz Jr. and Hermena Barbara (Franz) Conitz; and brothers, Marvin, Alfred, and Irvin Conitz.
Thelma is survived by her nieces, Cecilia Heinrich and Barbara Conitz; great-niece, Joan Heinrich; great-great nephews, Christopher Heinrich and Ashton Heinrich; and several cousins.
