Funeral services for Annie V. Shannon, 90, of Turkey, formerly of Flomot, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 at the Flomot Church of Christ. Officiating will be Jay Henderson and Mike Crowley. Interment will follow in the Flomot Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Seigler Funeral Home of Matador.
Annie was born October 17, 1918 in Love County, Okla. to Jesse Purdy and Betty Clark Purdy. Mrs. Shannon was a lifelong resident of the Folley Community and a Homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bly Shannon on November 16, 1999; and by one grandchild. Mrs. Shannon was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two sons; Billy Shannon and wife Susie of Flomot, Doyle Shannon and wife Sue of Roaring Springs; daughters, Velma Winston of Turkey, Texas, Carol Martin and husband Donnie of Silverton; brother, William Roscoe Purdy of Post; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.
