BARCLAY, George On January 5th, 2009, George Thomas Joseph Barclay, CW4, US Army Retired, was ushered with joy into the Presence of God. He joined his beloved Cecelia and son, Michael. A funeral mass will be said at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 10:00 am, Wednesday January 14th with Father Ed Thein officiating. Internment will follow at 1:00 pm in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. He leaves behind a devoted and loving family including his sister, Catherine Kelly; nephew Brian Kelly and wife Suellen; nephew Robert Kelly and wife Susan; daughter-in-law Sarah Barclay, and three grandchildren, Jonathan, Joshua, and Elizabeth, We express our deep appreciation to the loving staff of Christian City's Convalescent Care Center and the Sparks Inn. Much gratitude also goes to the many devoted and caring friends who loved and ministered to George Barclay. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christian City, 7300 Lester Road, Union City, GA 30291. Pope Dickson & Son-Jonesboro Chapel is in charge of the arrangements, 770-478-7211. -
