Joseph Paul Mattingly, 78, of English died Thursday at his home.

He retired from patient relations for Louisville Hand Surgery. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mattingly; daughters Evelyn Montgomery of Goshen, Ky., Lorna Lowman of Vine Grove, Ky., Tammy Shanks of New Albany, Angela Cowan of English, Christina Mattingly of Petersburg; sons Michael Wayne Mattingly of Louisville, Ky., and Paul Michael Mattingly of Brandenburg, Ky.; brother Leonard Mattingly of Springfield, Ky.; and sister Lucille Mattingly of Bardstown, Ky.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Marengo. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Marengo.

McAdams Mortuary of Paoli is handling the arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary; his sister, Geraldine; and brothers Spencer, JC and Melvin. Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara; his sister, Lucille; his brother, Leonard; his children, Evelyn, Paul Michael, Lorna, Tammy, Michael Wayne, Angela and Christina; and eight grandchildren. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Marengo. Visitation: 3-6 p.m. Sunday at church. Arrangements: McAdams.
