Doctor Warren Paul Brown, 80, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at his home in Scottsville, Virginia.

He was born on February 13, 1929, in Lake Helen, Florida, a son of the late Arthur E. and Bessie Ingalls Brown. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Arthur Brown and sister, Vivian Brown Zentz Plock.

Dr. Brown is survived by his beloved wife, Winnie Wootten Brown; his brother, Lawrence Earl Brown and his wife, Kay, of Tennessee; his sister, Sharron Brown Williams of Florida; his first wife and mother of his children, Joy L. Brown; a son, Warren Scott Brown; daughters, Darian Brown Barnette and her husband, Allen F. Barnette, Lisa Brown Gillmor and her husband, Gary Steven Gillmor, Dawn Brown Davis, Dana Eve Brown; his stepchildren, Pennie W. Allen and her husband, Monte F. Allen, Richard M. Wootten and hi wife, Frances B. Wootten. He is also survived by grandchildren, Casey Gillmor, Parker Davis, Drew Allen, Megan Allen, Molly Allen, J.C. Wootten, Travis Wootten, Christina Wootten, David Wootten, Jessi Benson; and a great-grandson, Nicholas Allen.

He graduated Leon County High School in Tallahassee, Florida, in 1946, and served in the Florida National Guard. He attended Florida State University and graduated The National University of Health Sciences in 1954. He completed graduate studies in radiology and nutrition. Dr. Brown set up his Chiropractic Practice in Charlottesville, Virginia, on January 3, 1955. He was a member of the Virginia Chiropractic Association and the American Chiropractic Association. In 1974 he founded the American Council on Nutrition of the American Chiropractic Association.

Dr. Brown worked with the Bridge Ministries for several years and served on the Board. He was an active member of a church he loved very much, Antioch Baptist Church.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to his church family, to Donna Spencer, devoted office manager, and to Dr. Chris Zazakos and staff.

The family received friends Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Antioch Baptist Church.

The funeral service and burial were held Friday, February 27, 2009, at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Antioch Baptist Church Building Fund, 4422 Antioch Road, Scottsville, VA 24590.
