Daughter of William J Mitchell Garrison and Elizabeth Myra Ann Roberts Garrison; widow of C.P. Black, to whom she was married October 8, 1888 by Rev A.H. Barrett in Buncombe County, NC..

She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Survived by six daughters, Mrs. J.E. Garrison, Mrs. C.F. Rogers, and Mrs. R.N. Rogers of Weaverville; Mrs. L.T. Waits of Morristown, TN, Mrs. Fred R. Love of Lexington, NC, and Mrs. Weaver Hunter of Greenville, SC; five sons, J.S., W.M., and Caryl Black of Weaverville, Clay Black of Asheville, and Glen Black of Oakley; a brother, A.J. Garrison of West Asheville; 39 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services: Wednesday, September 16, 1964, Flat Creek Baptist Church.

Burial: Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
