SARAH RHODA CLAYTON BRASHEARS, wife of MAJOR DAWKINS BRASHEARS, was the daughter of GOWAN CLAYTON, Jr., born 1775 and died Aug 7, 1826 in Holly Springs Community, Spartanburg County, SC. Her mother was FRANCIS LEMMONS CLAYTON, who was born Oct. 8, 1778 and died in Nov. 25, 1856 in the Holly Springs Community, Spartanburg County, SC. According to family lore they are both buried near the creek beyond the old Bob Johnson place.
