She was a Unicoi County native and a daughter of the late Walter and Hester Elizabeth Taylor Willis.
Mrs. Atkins was formerly employed by Southern Pottery and was owner and operator of Tilda's Beauty Shop for 30 years.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Atkins was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Atkins; one stepson, one stepdaughter, one grandson, six brother and six sisters.
