Mr. Stovall, a retired registered pharmacist with 42-years of practice in Texas and Louisiana died August 4 at Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport.
A native of Dodson, La., he was born March 14, 1906, the son of D. M. Stovall Sr. and Louella Teresa Gaar.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carthage and served on the church's administrative board and board of trustees. He also served on the board of directors at Panola Junior College and was a director of First State Bank of Carthage.
He was a past president of the Panola County Chamber of Commerce and in 1961, he received the outstanding citizen award. He also was a lifetime member of the Noon Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ada Massingill Stovall of Carthage; one daughter, Mrs. Kathryn Branch of Woodville; one son, Stephen Stovall of Nacogdoches; five sisters, Mrs. Velda Prince of Carthage, Mrs. Maurine McCarty, Mrs. Carlotta Ferguson, Mrs. Sarah Fouts and Mrs. Evelyn Finuf, all of Shreveport; one brother, the Rev. James L. Stovall of Baton Rouge; and five grandchildren.
