Funeral services for MSgt. Eugene L. Arre, (U.S. Army Ret.),77, of Columbia will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with Military Honors and interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Tuesday at Greenlawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Arre passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009. Born in Hawley, MN on July 11, 1931, he was the son of the late Arthur W. Arre and Junis L. Larson. He served in the United States Army for 21 years prior to his retirement in 1972. Mr. Arre was also active in the VFW. He was recently predeceased by his wife Inge C. Arre on March 11, 2009.

Surviving are his former wife Darlene Arre of Columbia; his daughters, Jeanne Smith of West Columbia, Karen Raiford of Round Rock, Texas and Julie Hunter of Columbia; his sons, Arthur Arre of Columbia and Alan Arre le Bon of Blythewood; nine grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Angeline Thompson of Detroit Lakes, MN, Ardis Haglund of Lakeville, MN, DeNell Burk of Minneapolis,MN, and Marvel Beckwith of Topeka, KS.
