He died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Erath County. He married Evelyn Wood on July 3, 1946, in Snyder. She died in 1987. He was a farmer and a rancher. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II, where he worked as a hospital administrator. He was a deacon at the 25th Street Church of Christ. He was an Elder at the Eastside Church of Christ and the Dunn Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Terry Dabbs of Dallas, Karen Terry of Temple and Michel Meador of Roswell, N.M.; three sons, Michael of Roswell, Daryl of Snyder and Jonathan of Abilene; a sister, Viah Goodlett of Decatur, Ark.; a brother, J.L. Bunch of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
