Alfred Carl Crook, 63 Civil Engineer
INDIAN LAND - Alfred Carl Crook, 63 died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007.
A native of Orangeburg, he was the son of Sara Maxie Gunnells Crook and the late Harlan David Crook. He was married to Carolyn Heaton Cook. He was a graduate of Clemson University and a civil engineer who worked for S.C. Hondrous in Charlotte. He was one of the founding fathers of Higher Ground Church, where he was active with the youth group and the after-school program and was a member of the leadership committee.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Summerville; two sons, Michael Scott Crook of Charlotte and Jeffrey David Crook of Indian Land; two daughters, Crystal Denise MacDougall of Indian Land and Bridgitte Dianne Crook of Charlotte; two brothers Allan Crook of Rockwell, Tenn., and Joe Crook of Charleston; a sister, Lillian Castleberry of Atlanta; and two grandchildren, Zachary and Jessica.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Higher Ground Church, conducted by the Rev. Steve Jacks, with burial in Higher Ground Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Higher Ground Church and other times at the home.
Memorial may be made to Higher Ground Church, building fund, 8365 Possum Hollow Road, Fort Mill, SC 29715.
Wolfe Funeral Home in Fort Mill is in charge.
