Clarence Alexander

Clarence Alexander, 64, of Canada Road, Tuckasegee, died Monday, April 27, 2009, at his residence.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at Tuckasegee Baptist Church with the Revs. Jim Ed Powell and Michael Queen officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery.

A native and lifelong resident of Jackson County, he was a son of the late Luther Marion and Laura Jane Middleton Alexander. He was a member of Sols Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jennieve Gills; and one brother, Raymond Alexander.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce Carnahan Alexander; three daughters, Becky Alexander Buchanan of Sylva, Debbie Alexander Adams of Old Fort and Kristy Lyn Ornellas of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; one sister, Oddesser Alexander Wilson of Sylva; one brother, Larson Marion Alexander of Tuckasegee; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sols Creek Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 86, Tuckasegee, NC 28783.

Melton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
