Robert Troutman, 85, of Davidsville died Wednesday at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born in Altoona, son of Bob and Mary (Sausserman) Troutman. He is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Troutman of Davidsville; a daughter, Ruth Ann, wife of David Bell, of State College; a son, James Harry, married to the former Danne Bittner, of Roaring Spring; a stepson, James R. Nipps Jr., married to the former Doris Hess, of Hagerstown, Md.; a stepdaughter, Nancy R. Heeman of State College; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Hazel Ritchey (Croft) Troutman. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he attended the Men's Prayer Breakfast and Super Seniors. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific and European theaters. Bob was a 1942 graduate of Altoona High School; a member of Masonic Mountain Lodge 281 of Altoona; Knights Templar, Johnstown; Jaffa Shrine, Altoona; Chief Logan Forest No. 131, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, where he was the past Grand Tall Cedar; a former member of the Blair County Republican Committee; and a member of PSEA and NEA. He retired from Johnstown Vo Tech after 17 years of teaching building maintenance. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, Johnstown, with the Rev. Wes Yoder officiating. Private interment will be held at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to the Emmanuel Baptist Church Mission Fund, 425 Luther Road, Johnstown, PA 15904, or the Caring Fund at Laurel View Village, 2000 Cambridge Drive, Davidsville, PA 15928.
