Dr. Harris, 88, Dies at Allsboro
Dr. James Monroe Harris, 88, died at the residence at 8:00 am today. Dr. Harris had been in bad health for the past three years, and had been confined to bed since Monday.

Dr. Harris was a member of the Methodist church. He was born and reared in Allsboro, and was a practicing physician for 65 years, retiring in 1942. He was married to Eddie L. Alsobrooks in March 31, 1892, and had been married for 64 ½ years.

Funeral services will be held 3:00pm Saturday from the Allsboro Methodist Church. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, Eddie L. Harris: one daughter, Mrs. Stella Blackburn of Allsboro: two sons, John H. Harris of Allsboro, and W.E. Harris of Tuscumbia; 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Active bearers will be Lydwell Blackburn, Billy Blackburn, Leroy Blackburn, John S. Harris, Stanley Woodis, Charles Fraser, John L. West, and Kenneth Avery.

Honorary bearers will be Dr. John Hensleigh, Dr. Harry Cosby, Dr, Louis Coker, Dr. Harry Brown, Dr. W.H. Blake, Jr., E.J. Henninger, Arthur Blackburn,Jr., James H. Tompkins, John B. Sockwell, and W.A. Reid.
