Funeral Services for Mrs. Rebecca Ruth Stevens Cornwell, 81, of 6141 Old Leesburg Road, Hopkins, SC, widow of the late Thomas Wilburn Cornwell of Hopkins will be held 3 p.m. Sunday at Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Robert W. Cornwell and Reverend Amos Hann, officiating and interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. Chris Moody, Ted Lowe, Elliott Gordon, Joseph Stevens, Lafon Moody and Livingston Fields will serve as pallbearers. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements.

Mrs. Cornwell entered into eternal rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Born in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Grover Stevens and Ruth Hardee Stevens. Mrs. Cornwell owned and operated Greenlawn Child Care with her daughter for many years. "Nanny," as she was affectionately known, will long be remembered for her loving and nurturing nature. She greatly influenced the lives of many children and will be missed deeply.

Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Lowe and her husband, Teddie M., of Hopkins, SC; sons, Thomas William Cornwell of Eastover, SC, Russell Herman Cornwell of Lexington, SC, Joseph Edward Cornwell of the home and Reverend Robert Wilburn Cornwell and his wife, Denise Marie, of Big Stone Gap, VA; grandchildren, Thomas Christopher Moody and his wife, Melissa, and Amanda R. Gordon and her husband, Elliott; great-grandchildren, Erica Moody and Justin Gordon; a sister, Blanchie Ridgeway of Garden City, SC; a brother, Joseph Stevens of Columbia, SC; and her extended family, Anna Robinson and her children, Kayla, Matthew and Isabella Robinson.

The family of the late Rebecca Ruth Stevens Cornwell would like to thank the staff of Magnolia Manor Rehab Facility of Columbia for all the compassion and support shown during the care of their loved one.
