BYERS, RUTH M.
Ruth M. Byers, 93, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2009. A native of Somerset, Kentucky, Mrs. Byers was a resident of Jacksonville, Florida for the past 8 years, preceded by 15 years in Ocala, Florida and many years in Ohio, mostly in Cincinnati. Ruth was an active member of St. Paul's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in Jacksonville Beach where she was a member of St. Monica's Guild and an avid member of the Bible study class. She was a passionate reader, dearly loved little children and had a witty sense of humor. She also loved to play cards and take walks. Ruth lived a life of sacrifice and giving. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Paul Enarb Byers and brother, Harold Mills. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Katherine Wilson Byers and Robert and Patricia Byers; one brother and his wife, Howard and Jean Mills; a sister-in-law, Alice Mills; five grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Steven, Andy and Suzanne and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Sydney. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, May 3, 2009 at St. Paul's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church, with The Rev. Penny L. Pfab officiating. Interment will follow in the church memorial garden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the St. Paul's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church Foundation, 465 11th Avenue North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Arrangements by: Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Boulevard.
