Dorris Dove
ELGIN Funeral for Dorris Dove, 85, Elgin, will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church, Fletcher, with the Rev. Rodney Campbell, pastor, officiating.
Mrs. Dove died Thursday, April 23, 2009, in Lawton.
Burial with Navy honors will be in Elgin Memorial Lawn Cemetery under direction of Becker Funeral Home of Fletcher.
She was born Dec. 16, 1923, in Altus, to Carl Martin and Amy Barrett Schroeder. She worked for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., and served in the Navy. She married Curtis B. Dove on April 11, 1949, in San Diego. She was a member of the USS Saratoga Association and the USS Benham Association. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Mac and Denise Dove, and Ray and Helen Dove, all of Elgin; six granddaughters and their husbands: Lisa and Mike Skrastins, Columbus, Ohio; Laura and Sammy Webb, Lawton; April and Dustin Bartlett, Snyder; Janice Dove and fiance, Will McComb, Sayre; Amanda Jean and Robert Waller, Denver; and Rachel June and Chris Babin, Oklahoma City; 10 great-grandchildren: Michael, Jessica, Nathan, Jacob, Lance, Chance, Asher, Breleigh, Christian and Clayton; a brother and sister-in-law, Carl Martin Schroeder Jr. and Betty, Columbia, S.C.; two sisters-in-law: Barbara and Dorothy; two nieces; and seven nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
