Virgil E. Adams, 87; Was Labor Referee
Funeral for Virgil Emory Adams, 87, of 610 Delmar Ave.SE, will be held at 11 a m Monday in Grant Park Methodist Church. The Rev. Charles Thomas will officiate, with burial in Westview Cemetery.
Adams, a retired attorney, died Friday after a long illness. He was the chief appeals referee for the Georgia Labor Department for about 15 years.
He was graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1914 after attending Reinhardt College.
A native of Milton County, he was a member of Grant Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving are the widow, Louise Paine (sic) Adams; daughter, Mrs. Edwin T. Mitchell of Florham Park, NJ and Mrs. Frank R. Smith of Miami Beach, sons, Virgil Adams, Jr. of Chattanooga and James T. Adams of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. George Davis of Atlanta; a brother, Carl Adams of Newnan.
