Buddy Griffis
The funeral for James Archie (Buddy) Griffis, 89, of Fargo, was held Wednesday morning, 11:00, at the Fargo Evangelistic Church, with interment at Mixon Ferry. He passed away Monday in Clinch Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was a native of Fargo, the son of the late Samuel Pomple and Elizabeth Mixon Griffis. He attended Fargo Evangelistic Church, was a World War I Army veteran, Mason, lifelong resident of Clinch county, and had lived 26 years in the home of the widow of his late brother, E. L. (Lem) Griffis.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the funeral were the pastor, Rev. Nancy Chauncey and Rev. Talmadge Guess. Pallbearers were Messrs. Roy Leavens, Fred Steedley, Alphin Griffis, Arden Griffis, Ransom Steedley, and Jesse Reavis Steedley. Relihan Funeral Home was in charge.
