Betty June Carter, 80, of Tucson, Arizona, died Sunday, March 14, 2004
Born May 29, 1923, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of Jesse McMurray and Mary (Pearcy) McMurray. She married Robert R Carter and he survives.
Other survivors include two sons, John a Blocher of Tucson and Russell A Blocher of Shelbyville; one daughter, Sue Vincent of Nancy, Kentucky; daughter-in-law, Donna Blocher of Shelbyville; two sisters, Pansy Pyle of Shelbyville and Ruth Berry of Indianapolis; three brothers, Carl McMurray of Indianapolis, Donald McMurray of Franklin and Alvin McMurray of Duncan, Okla; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, William A Blocher.
Mrs. Carter had been a longtime Shelby County resident. She later lived in Sarasota, Fla., for 23 years and Tucson for 16 years.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Carmony-Ewing Harrison Street Funeral Home, 819 Harrison St. Shelbyville, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. with the Rev. Bobb L Barlow officiating.
Internment will be in Miller Cemetery, Shelby County, Indiana.
