Benjamin Alexander Bell and his wife Mary and two sons Samuel and Edmond were the first Bells into the area of Jefferson County that is known today as Kimbrough Crossroads, Sartin Springs and the Ebenezer Communities. He had been a "Tory" during the Revolutionary War, and following it's conclusion his options were rather limited. Only part of his and Mary's family came with them. He was a farmer and "fruit grower". He is credited with having developed the "Bell Pear". His and Mary's headstones were made of "fieldstone", and time and weather have had their way and their names have been worn away. The last member of the Bell family to know of their exact location in the Miller Cemetery was Benjamin's Great, Great, Great Grandson Gerald Bell who passed away in 1990.
