OBITUARY

The Greenville News (SC) - Tuesday, April 14, 2009

EASLEY, SC - Loring Dyer Capps, 85, of 810 McAlister Road, died Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.

Born in Easley, he was a son of the late Walter Oscar and Bessie Virginia Corbin Capps. He was a graduate of Easley High School, a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and was retired from Platt- Saco Lowell. Mr. Capps was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the European Theater during World War II.

Mr. Capps is survived by his wife, Rama Roper Capps of the home; two sons, Kerry Capps and his wife Kathy of Liberty and Dale Capps of Easley; three grandchildren, Shosha Capps of Davis, California, Maura Capps of Clemson and Nicholas Capps of Liberty; one brother, Edwin Capps of Easley; a sister, Virginia (Jennie) Beeks of Easley; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Capps was predeceased by a brother, Luther (Bud) Capps, and two sisters, Hazel Barr and Mary Lee Roper.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown, officiated by Reverend Gerald Roper and Reverend Dr. Mark Ford. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.

The family is at the home.
