Henry joined the Confederacy at age 14 in abt 1860.

Henry was the son of Charles Foster born May 16 1817 in Binghamton, New York, and Harriet Smith Poyas born 10 Dec. 1816 in Charleston, South Carolina.

One wonders if he had to fight against some of his father's relatives in the Civil War.
