She was born Oct. 9, 1926, in Geneva, the daughter of Charles and Katherine (Shipe) Heflin and has been a lifetime area resident.
She enjoyed going to the YMCA and exercise classes; going on bus trips, reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving her are two sons, David (Sharon) Ashley of St. Joseph, Mo., and Jon (Diane) Ashley of Ashtabula; four grandchildren, Davis, Megan, Devon and Jon; nine great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Solomon Ashley in 1999; a grandson, Solomon Ashley; three brothers, Lee, Robert and Harold Heflin; and two sisters, Virginia Flaherty and Glenna Pawlowski.
Funeral Services are 11 a.m., Friday, April 17th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Dan Evans, of the Ashtabula Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Saybrook Township Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be Thursday, April 16th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
