Elizabeth I. 'Betty' Thomas, 79, Altoona, died Mon. at Altoona Hospital. She was born in Altoona, daughter of Charles & Leavenia (Winrick) Bookhamer. Betty married Edward M. 'Eddie' Thomas Aug. 1, 1946, in Winchester, Va. He died Oct. 31, 2000. Survived by children: Margaret A. Adams & husband, Francis X.; Lucinda L. Corle & husband, Jack D. and Gail E. Ianuzzi & husband, James R., all Altoona; 7 grandchildren: James F. Adams & wife, Lori, Karen Adams Manion & husband, Peter, Michele L. Corle, Jason D. Corle, Jaclyn L. Himmelwright & husband, Bill, Amber G. Miller & Makayla L. Ianuzzi; and 7 gr. grandchildren. She was a member of Altoona Bible Church and retired as a private duty registered nurse. After her retirement, she worked in the floral department at Giant Eagle. Betty was a 1948 graduate of Altoona High School and 1951 graduate of Conemaugh Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Johnstown. She enjoyed flowers, reading, crossword puzzles, luncheons with her nursing friends and loved spending time with family. Smith Funeral Home, Altoona. Interment, Alto-Reste Park Cemetery.
