Beasley was born in Patrick County on July 4, 1916, to the late John M. and Ada Heath Beasley. Also preceding him in death are two brothers, Arthur and Amos Beasley; and three sisters, Minnie Martin, Mamie Anderson and Virginia Mitchell, who died Sunday, January 13.
Beasley served in the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant during World War II, and he was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Stella Rogers Beasley of the home; a daughter, Rebecca Beasley McCann of Claudville; one son, John W. Beasley of Claudville; three grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and a step-great-grandson.
