She was born on May 14, 1936, to the late Asbury and Susie Williams in Greene County, Virginia. She was married to the late Bobby Banks.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry Clay Williams, James Williams, and Marvin Williams; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Williams, Ethel Williams, and Pauline Williams.
Frances was baptized at an early age and received Jesus as her personal savior. She attended Greene County public schools and graduated from Jackson P. Burley High School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Frances was employed at the Martha Jefferson House Nursing Home for over 23 years. After retiring, she spent several years private sitting for elderly patients. Love is the ultimate expression of God! So she was truly a gift from God!
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Larry Williams, Robert Banks, and Chauncey Banks, all of Charlottesville, VA, two daughters, Karen Banks of Charlottesville, VA, and Pamela Banks Collins of Westchester, IL, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one sister, Flossie "Louise" Walker of Charlottesville, VA, four brothers, John Williams of Charlottesville, VA, Journey "Aljourney" Williams of Greene County, VA, Welford "Lit" Williams of Greene County Virginia, and Steve Williams of Louisville, KY, two foster sisters, Emma Brock of Washington, D.C. and Margaret Brock of Madison, VA, one foster brother, Thomas Brock of Farmville, VA, one sister-in-law, three close friends, Phyllis Jones of Charlottesville, VA, Addie Brock of Charlottesville, VA, Barbara Herndon of Greene County, VA; nieces, nephews and and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Stanardsville, Virginia, with the Reverend Harrison Williams delivering the eulogy. Interment at Redmond family cemetery. J. F. Bell Funeral Home, Charlottesville, VA.
