Helen J. Sickles, 97, Hollidaysburg, formerly of Altoona, died Wednesday evening at the Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Luther and Abbie (Snyder) Mitchell. She married Lloyd K. Sickles Nov. 14, 1940, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Altoona.
Surviving is her husband of 68 years. She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Duncansville. Mrs. Sickles was a 1930 graduate of Altoona High School. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano. She was a member of Altoona chapter 290, Order of the Eastern Star for 71 years.
Friends will be received from 2-4 p.m. today at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, where an OES service will be held at 2 p.m. and where a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. by the Rev. Jaime G. Olson. Interment, Rose Hill Cemetery.
