Rev. Norris was a prominent member of the Genesee (Western New York/now Upper New York) Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was admitted to the conference on trial in 1882, and proceded to serve the Conference in many locations over 36 years. Upon retiring, Rev. Norris spent the last seven years of his life in Kenmore.
