Janet C. HOIEN Janet C. Hoien passed away on November 17, 2001. Janet, one of six children, was born on March 23, 1918, in Perley, Minnesota to John and Clara Haaland. Janet met her husband, the late Roy Hoien in Twin Valley, MN. In 1942, Roy and Janet moved their family to Seattle where Roy worked in the shipyards. In 1951, Janet went to work for Boeing and retired in 1978. Jan et was happiest when she was surrounded by her loving family; which included 10 grandchil dren, 19 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Janet is survived by her daughter Rosalie Carl stedt, Seattle, son John (Peggy), Sacramento, CA., sister Lorraine Smutzler, Moorehead, MN. and sisters-in-law Edna Whittlesey, Kenne wick, WA. and Verna Strick, Minneapolis, MN. She was recently preceded in death by her daughter Diane Gradel, Auburn, WA., son Robert "Bob" Hoien, Bloomfield Hills, MI. and friend and companion for 13 years, Frank Pressler of Auburn, WA. Janet spent the last few years of her long and wonderful life at Day Star Retirement Village in West Seattle. She will be missed by all of us who knew and loved her strong will and caring heart. Viewing will be Friday, November 23rd from 1 to 5 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Satur day, November 24, 2001, at 1 p.m. at Yarington' Funeral Home, 10708 16th Ave. S.W., Seattle. During the service, there will be moments of sharing for Janet's son, Bob, who passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2001. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
